Frequent questions


1.- Should I register before placing an order?
No, you can buy as a visitor to the page, but if you wish, you can register to create a user account before placing your first order, through which you can buy from now on. It is a very simple process that will only take a couple of minutes.
Important: The data requested in the creation of an account will be used by Hemingway bookstore only for dispatch, sending promotions or contact to respond to customer inquiries that require it.
2.- How to place your order at www.hemingway.cl?
You must follow the following steps:
A.- Select the book or product you want to buy, and then click the button that says ADD TO CART. If you want to purchase more than one product, repeat the previous step as many times as necessary to complete your order.
B.- When you have the entire order selected, that is, the book (s) or product (s) you want to buy, you must click the button FINISH ORDER.
C.- If all the previous steps have been carried out correctly, you must press "BUY", and then you must carry out the following 5 steps:
  • Step 1: Order summary
  • Step 2: Complete customer details
  • Step 3: Select payment method
  • Step 4: Pay
  • Step 5: Confirmation of purchase

3.- Do the prices include VAT?
Yes, all prices for books and other products include VAT. When you receive your order, the respective sales receipt for the purchase made will be attached.
4.- How do I receive my order?
We have 2 shipping methods: 
  • Home delivery
  • Dispatch to a CorreosChile branch (PO box or branch pick-up) 
We ship to all of Chile through our own dispatch system and CorreosChile Courier.
A.- Address
It is very important that you know the localities in Chile where it is possible to deliver at home. If the service is not available, dispatch is offered to offices or agencies of the companies that provide the Courier service.
We will send your order to the address you indicate, it can be to the address of the person from whom you are making the payment or an alternative address. At the time of payment, you only have to inform us which is the address where you want the book or product to arrive, indicating street, number, commune, city and postal code. If the person is not at the indicated address, the companies that provide the Courier service will coordinate a new delivery.
B.- Branch or agency
If you are not sure if you are at your home at the time of delivery, the branch office is a good alternative. When you register to buy (form), you only have to enter the branch where it is best for you to withdraw your order. You can also expressly leave the comment that you will withdraw the order at the CorreosChile office that accommodates you, depending on the location in which you are. We will notify you via email when the order is available for withdrawal. At the time of doing so, you only have to present your identity card. 
5.- Are shipments made outside of Chile?
Exceptionally we can send orders outside of Chile, through international courier with PAYPAL payment system. For inquiries on the matter write to us at contacto@hemingway.cl.
6.- How long does it take for my order to arrive?
Depending on the city or town where you are, Hemingway books will process the order once the payment is received and will dispatch it for you to receive between 2 and 5 business days after purchase. In the case of extreme regions, it should be considered up to 10 additional business days to the delivery time indicated above.

7.- Can I change a book or product?
Yes, it is possible to change a book or product purchased online, in case it does not correspond to the one purchased, it is damaged - as long as it has not been damaged by a fact attributable to the consumer (Art. 21, Law 19.496) - or it does not arrive within of the indicated date. To do this, you must report the error within 10 business days of receiving the product to contacto@hemingway.cl
In this case, Hemingway bookstore will cover the cost of the new office.
Likewise, the book or product must be unused, with the original packaging, accessories or labels (as appropriate) in perfect condition. For inquiries about the particular or related, write to our email or review the information on Returns Policy in the section "TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE" WE.
8.- Can I request a refund of the money in case of returning a book or product?
This is possible as long as some conditions are met, which will be determined by the Hemingway library. For more information on this, review the information on Returns Policy in the section "TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE" in the section WE.
9.- If a book fair is held in my school or other institution, can Librería Hemingway participate?
Yes, we participate in book fairs that are held in schools. If you want to invite us or contact us to be present, you can write to contacto@hemingway.cl.
